The house comes with six bedrooms, six bathrooms, and seven fireplaces. Original features include mantels, doors, windows, wood floorboards, and crown moldings. After the War, it was fully rebuilt and has since hosted many famous visitors including the Marquis de LaFayette, John Jacob Aster, and famed American author James Fenimore Cooper. Known as "the most historic square mile in American history," Lewiston has a rich and colorful past. This quiet and charming Village was the ancient trade routes of the mighty Portage, the centerpiece of Empire. Lewiston was also the last stop on the Underground railroad.
From the Mansion, one can stroll down the 200-year-old Bridal Path into the Village with its one-of-a-kind shops and romantic restaurants. The Mansion is also just a five-minute walk to Lewiston’s Performing Arts Center. A short drive away is the beautiful, unspoiled wine country of the region.
